Caliber - This cartridge was introduced in 1950 and represents a new development from the Remington drawing board. The low-recoil, high-precision cartridge was soon well established. It is used for bench rest shooting just as for hunting. In other words, it is popular as a cartridge for both target shooting and hunting. For hunting, the cartridge is best loaded with a 3.24 gram bullet. This produces the best performance. For pure target shooting, a 3.37 gram match bullet can also be used. It is a very good cartridge for roe deer and fox. Hares and rabbits can also be taken with this cartridge. It is also useful for capercaillie and similar birds. Roe deer can be taken up to 200 meters. Damage to the venison is low - there is no hematoma generation worth speaking of.

Cartridge - A well-proven projectile type still favoured by many today. High to very high energy output in game. Somewhat stronger fragmentation, therefore exit holes are not always present. Very good stopping effect. Frequently used in battues because of the above reasons and because of a certain insensitivity to minor obstacles. With round or pointed projectile tip.
